They can earn a degree in as little as three years and spend just 2 to 4 weeks on our campus each summer. They can also supplement their on-campus time by taking courses online through the year.

  • Master of ArtsMaster of Arts
    Designed to match the needs of those in church leadership or ministry organization seeking self-improvement through greater understanding of the Bible, this program is also perfect for lay people interested in building their capacity for greater teaching and leading opportunities. There are eleven specializations available in this degree program:
    • ABWE/Missions: This is a special track for those seeking better preparation for service in the mission field as well as a graduate-level degree.
    • Bible: This concentration provides the big picture of the story of Scripture, with courses focusing on the use of Bible study methods in specific books to provide a paradigm for all future Bible study.
    • Church/Ministry Education: This specialization assists participants in the development of a philosophy of teaching and learning based on current research in the Bible. The classes also prepare them to understand the generational impact of culture on teaching and learning.
    • Counseling: This track enables participants to provide wise biblical counsel in a wide range of roles, both within and outside the church. They gain insight into people, their own awareness of how God's Word applies to healthy living, and how to resolve human struggles.
    • Intercultural Studies: This is designed to help enrollees understand and analyze how to interact with competing worldviews and belief systems in a biblical manner.
    • Literature: This concentration develops students' ability to comprehend, evaluate, and use literature in their life and ministry. The coursework expand their critical thinking through applications of deeper biblical interpretation, while inspiring greater analytical skills in literary content and criticism.
    • Professional Writing: Comprised of fiction (the parables), nonfiction (all of the narratives), poetry (the Psalms) and doctrine, students of this sequence learn how to write and use each of those same genres to reach the twenty-first century world.
    • Organizational Leadership: This track enhances participants' ability to bring leadership to an organizational team and bring that team to its goal. They gain understanding of the organizational dynamics for maintaining a productive environment of learners.
    • Social Entrepreneurship: This specialization provides new theological and functional knowledge and skills for students to launch biblically based social impact programs or assume a leadership role in an existing venture.
    • Urban Ministry: This concentration trains Christians to take leadership roles in urban settings. Students gain the necessary tools to forge alliances, manage with confidence, inspire a shared vision, conduct research, and develop biblical solutions to contemporary urban challenges.
    • Worldview Studies: A combination of two sequences--Reason & Revelation and Worldviews in Tension--this track prepares students to enter into the lives of other believers and unbelievers through a solid grounding in the eternal Truth of God, plus temporal insights into the reality of who we are as a civilization.
  • Master of EducationMaster of Education
    This program helps enrolling educators lead and minister their students, as well as accomplishing academic and spiritual goals for themselves, their pupils, and their school. It features six concentrations:
    • Curriculum and Instruction: Equips participants with the skills for developing and implementing curricula based on a biblical worldview that is appropriate for the target age and skill level.
    • Educational Administration: Participants learn to lead and minister to their students, faculty, and staff on spiritual and academic levels.
    • Health, Physical Education, and Sport: Enables participants to build a more effective health, physical education, and team-sport experience for their students.
    • Music Education: While enriching the participants' own musical and teaching skills, this track also enables them to develop and communicate a curriculum that advances spiritual, academic, and artistic standards.
    • Reading Specialist: This specialization teaches how to provide specialized reading instruction to students in kindergarten through grade 12. Participants learn how to evaluate a student's special needs and develop an appropriate plan for reading instruction.
    • Secondary English/Communications: The focus is on special content in drama, writing and literature, as well as core biblical- and theological-based courses and contemporary classroom methods. Participants also gain the essential skills to minister and lead their students on academic and spiritual levels.
  • M.S. in Counseling MinistriesM.S. in Counseling Ministries
    Students delve into the field of counseling and acquire skills that open doors to broader career opportunities and a more effective ministry. Courses include Biblical Philosophy of Counseling, Theories and Techniques of Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, Career Counseling, Abnormal Behavior, Human Development, Ethics and Professional Orientation to Counseling. Graduates are prepared to pursue state requirements for licensure through more than 1,000 hours of supervised fieldwork experience.
