Kentucky Community & Technical College

Overview
Kentucky Community & Technical College System consists of 16 colleges across Kentucky offering affordable career education and transfer degrees to thousands of students. This network of schools came into existence in 1997, when legislation combined the state's public technical and community colleges. KCTCS is a cost-effective way to get a truly great education; the system notes that students who transfer to 4-year colleges with KCTCS degrees maintain higher GPAs than those who started at a 4-year school.

Student Appeal
The large network of schools in KCTCS means that online students have a wide variety of course and degree options to choose from. The system also has two unique types of online courses: traditional semester-long courses, as well as short 3-5 week modules.

Accreditation
All colleges in the KCTCS system have accreditation through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
