Overview
Since 1971, National University has provided students in California with career instruction in several different fields. The university has five different schools â€" the School of Business and Management, Engineering and Technology, Education, Media and Communication, Health and Human Services and the College of Letters and Sciences. Many programs offer graduate degrees, too. Today, the university has over 40 degree programs entirely online for undergraduate and graduate students. There are also more than 300 classes available online as well.

Student Appeal
Students appreciate the online education they can receive through National University. Technical support for online classes is available seven days a week and the school has global educational agreements with other schools abroad. In addition, students have access to a variety of services, both online and in person. A writing center, math center, and career center are all available for tutoring or other services. Students can also participate in accelerated study programs to finish their degree faster. The university is accredited by at least six educational organizations, including the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), among others.

Financial
Students fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for aid and how much they will receive to put towards their tuition. Aid is also available in the forms of grants, scholarships and loans, both public and private. The school also has financial aid services to help students understand their aid.

    The curriculum for this program prepares students for careers in accounting and for taking the exam that leads to being a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or Certified Financial Manager. Instructors teach the latest methods and information regarding accounting practices in corporate settings.
  • Arabic StudiesArabic Studies
    This program provides an intensive study of the Arabic language along with the history and traditions of the culture of the Arab region. Graduates of this study emerge with a strong command of the Arabic language and tend to find jobs in the military or government of the United States or other nations.
  • Business AdministrationBusiness Administration
    Students in this program study a curriculum based on today's businesses practices, both domestically and globally. Graduates of the program tend to continue their business education to pursue an MBA or find entry-level management positions in retail and corporate environments.
  • Criminal Justice AdministrationCriminal Justice Administration
    Today's criminal justice procedures and technologies are explored in this comprehensive program. Investigation procedures, correctional tactics and identity theft are just a few of the topics discussed. Students learn to think critically about the criminal justice system and explore other aspects as well.
  • Early Childhood DevelopmentEarly Childhood Development
    This program is designed to prepare students for working with young children in a professional and productive manner. The curriculum follows national and state guidelines based on several organizations, including the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the National Head Start Association. Students undergo ongoing observation, screening assessments and other types of training.

    Students in this program learn literary analysis, critical thinking and writing skills. The curriculum also focuses on the basis of linguistics and communication in today's world. Graduates find jobs as teachers or in the fields of advertising, publishing and other language-related careers.
  • Global StudiesGlobal Studies
    This program is ideal for students wishing to go into international careers. The curriculum focuses on today's global issues and trains students how to interact with other cultures through business, technology and education. Graduates learn to think critically and adapt to the changing methods in today's global affairs.
  • HistoryHistory
    This broad program has several goals, but instructors mainly involve the students in thinking critically about the events and cultures throughout history. Logical argumentation, research, writing and analytical skills are explored so graduates have several options in the job field. Graduates find jobs in government services, teaching positions or other related fields.
  • Information SystemsInformation Systems
    This program is offered by the School of Engineering and Technology and offers a curriculum based on telecommunications, electronic commerce and database administration. Typical classes include Data Mining, Management Information Systems and Web Development. Students receive preparations for graduate classes and are encouraged to continue with the program.
  • Organizational BehaviorOrganizational Behavior
    Students wishing to start their own business or work in an already established enterprise benefit from this program's curriculum. Leadership is a major focus of the program, teaching students to analyze a variety of business-related scenarios and case studies to help them make informed decisions in the actual workforce.

    This course is available entirely online and in the Spanish language for students who prefer this type of setting. Decision-making and negotiation skills are the main focus of the curriculum with concentrations on planning, development, cultural analysis and economic concerns.
