    This three-year program consists of two years of didactic study and one year of community-based clinical instruction. The didactic component features courses in fundamentals of clinical medicine and surgery, diagnostic methods, women's health, pediatrics, emergency medicine, advanced patient evaluation in the primary care setting, and other essential topics. The twelve-month latter phase provides clinical instruction in the student's home community through distance modalities. The comprehensive educational experiences enable graduates to acquire and demonstrate these competencies in the areas of medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, patient care, professionalism, practice-based learning and improvement, and systems-based practice.
