Overview
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, better known as Virginia Tech, is a four-year university located in Blacksburg, Virginia. As its name suggests, the University concentrates on technical training in such fields as engineering and computer science. but altogether the undergraduate school offers more than seventy college majors from a diverse array of schools within the University. The colleges include Agriculture & Life Sciences, Architecture & Urban Studies, Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts & Human Sciences, Natural Resrouces and Environment, Science, University Studies, and Veterinary Medicine. There is also a graduate school that enrolls more than 7,000 of the University's approximately 30,000 students.

The extremely large Virigina Tech campus in Blacksburg, Virginia is comprised of over 125 buildings, and even features an airport on the grounds. Graduate students, especially, find the school's research budget a major draw. In fact, the University is ranked 44th in the country amongst all research institutions.
